BIOGRAPHY

The initial line-up was War D. on guitar, Zumof on vocals, Acronoise on drums, and Masmiseim (b. Christophe Mermod, Acronoise's brother) on bass. Masmiseim left early on to join Samael, with Zumof departing soon after. Samael’s current vocalist/guitarist Vorph did guest vocals on one track from the demo Black Wedding, and the band issued their debut album, The Just Law, on Head Not Found Records. After several more line-up changes, they signed to Adipocere Records, who issued their second album, ...And Death Smiled, in 1995. The same year, Alastis toured with bands Anathema and Theatre of Tragedy in support of the album.
Much like their fellow countrymen Samael, gothic and industrial musical elements played an important role in their sound during their later career, starting as a raw black metal before signing to Century Media records in 1996, who began distributing the group's output in the United States. The Other Side was released in 1997 and promoted with a gig at the Wacken Open Air heavy metal festival in Germany . The band released their fourth album, Revenge, in 1998. The musician line-up at this stage was War D. on guitar/synthesizer/vocals, Acronoise on drums, Nick on second guitar, and Raff on bass.
"The Other Side" is generally considered the band's cornerstone album. The title track and opener "In Darkness" are some of their best-recognized songs, with the latter track appearing on the 1997 Nuclear Blast compilation CD Beauty In Darkness, Vol 2, along with work by bands Dimmu Borgir, Therion, In Flames, Sentenced, My Dying Bride and several others.
In 2000, the band added Sebastian on drums and Graven X on keyboards. Their last album was the 10-track opus Unity, released in 2001 on Century Media Records. After that, they built a home studio, which was initially supposed to be used for the recording of the 6th album, for which several songs had already been written. Notwithstanding, the album was never recorded and the band split up in 2004. While the members still play together in several other musical projects, they no longer write music under the "Alastis" name.
In the Summer of 2010, the band reformed as "The Corrosive Candy" and recorded their debut album under the label "ALASTIS Records". Produced by War D., mixed by War D. and Raff, they expect to release the album in early 2011.

Line-up as featured on their last album "Unity":
  • War D.—Guitars/vocals
  • Nick—Lead guitar
  • Raff—Bass
  • Sebastian—Drums
  • Graven X—Keyboard and sampler

Lunatica is a symphonic metal band that was formed in Suhr, Switzerland in November 1998. The band consists of Andrea Dätwyler (vocals), Sandro D’Incau (guitars), Emilio Barrantes (bass), Alex Seiberl (keyboards), and Ronny Wolf (drums). Former members include Andy Leuenberger (guitars), Beat Brack (bass), and Ermes Di Prisco (drums).

The foundations were placed by Alex Seiberl and Sandro D’Incau but couldn’t find a lead singer for the band. After a long search for a lead singer, the band found Andrea in 2001. She became the lead vocalist and their debut album, “Atlantis”, was released later in the same year.

“Atlantis” was very successful and Lunatica were booked for many concerts and festivals. Playing at Metaldayz festival (the biggest metal open air festival in Switzerland), Lunatica was elected “best newcomer band” and gained a lot of new fans.

For the second album, “Fables & Dreams”, the band worked together with successful producer Sascha Paeth, known for productions of Rhapsody, Kamelot, Angra, After Forever, Edguy, and Heavens Gate. Sascha Paeth created the powerful production Lunatica desired. The songs were developed better and the band had more time to compose and arrange them.

“Fables & Dreams” was released on February 16, 2004 in Switzerland and climbed directly to place 13 of the Swiss Internet Charts. This continued to be a success over that year.

Lunatica released their third studio album, “The Edge of Infinity”, in August 2006.

BIOGRAPHY

Lacrimosa is a duo led by German-born Tilo Wolff, the main composer, and Finnish Anne Nurmi, currently based in Switzerland and founded in 1990. Lacrimosa was at the beginning a solo project of Tilo Wolff and his musical genre originally was (New German Death Art). Between Satura and Inferno, when Anne Nurmi (ex-Two Witches) joined a group, their music style has shifted much more towards /(neo) with influences. Their musical style mixes heavy metal and gothic rock sounds along with violin, trumpet and more classical instruments, although their musical development throughout the years has also led to changes in instrumentation. Lacrimosa’s lyrics are written almost exclusively in German, although since the 1995 album Inferno every album has featured one or two songs in English, generally written by Anne Nurmi. Finnish has also appeared in brief spoken intros to two songs (Schakal on Inferno and The Turning Point on Elodia) and on a bonus track in a limited edition release of Fassade. Their lyrics are mainly about loneliness, sadness, darkness, despair and love.
All albums were released through Wolff’s own label Hall Of Sermon.

"Eluveitie - New Wave Of Folk Metal"...
While Eluveitie always belonged to the fastly growing European folk metal scene, they always brought some fresh wind into it: Eluveities sound is authentic, traditional Celtic folk music combined in a unique way with modern styled melodic death metal. With their new Album "Everything Remains (as it never was)" they have managed to deepen every aspect of their already inimitable style and maybe more than ever can only be described by their own description "The New Wave Of Folk Metal".

Originally formed by mastermind Chrigel Glanzmann in Winter 2002/2003 as a mere studio project, the first MCD "Vên" was recorded in spring 2003 - already unique in it's way of having folkmusic on an equal footing with the metal sound. .
The self-financed MCD was ardently received by scene and press and sold out within a few months. In 2004 Eluveitie signed to the Dutch label Fear Dark Records, which released a re-mastered (and partly re-recorded) version of "Vên", and continued as a "real" band, playing gigs together with bands such as Finntroll, Amon Amarth, Korpiklaani, Ensiferum and many others while touring Europe and playing many festivals & openairs.
Although some line-up changes still had to happen, Eluveitie grew into being a band and developed their very own style. In late 2005 Eluveitie was finally ready to enter the studio again and record their first full-lenght album "Spirit", which was again released through Fear Dark Records. Furthermore a videoclip for the Song "Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom" was produced in Summer 2006, directed by Martin Schäppi, Merlin Sutter & Chrigel Glanzmann / Eluveitie.
With "Spirit" Eluveitie went a big step forward, presenting a completely new style of Folk Metal to the scene - starting a new wave of Folk Metal!
While the album was turning out to be a huge success, the band toured their asses off again. Yet whilst touring and playing many festivals like the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) or Summerbreeze Open Air (Germany), Eluveitie already began to work on new material for the succesive album.
Finally in Fall 2007 the new album "Slania" was recorded in different studios in Sweden, Switzerland & Liechtenstein, produced, mixed & mastered by Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Opeth & more) at the Fascination Street Studios in Orebrö/SE (www.fascinationstreet.se). Having recorded nothing less than the perfection of their very own style, Eluveitie now was in the lucky Situation to receive many offers from almost every known label in metal music & ended up signing with the well-known German record company Nuclear Blast Records, where a new home was found under perfect conditions.... After some talks & the production of a new videoclip (again produced & directed by Merlin Sutter & Martin Schäppi) a release date was set for february 2008.

“Slania” turned out to become a breakthrough (chart entries in Switzerland: #35 and Germany: #72) and the band was getting busy taking over the world in 2008 - with appearances at most of the bigger european summer festivals as well as two USA/Canada tours and three European tours within only 12 (!) months.

But never being lazy, Eluveitie worked out new material while touring and was ready to enter the studio again in December 2008! Their follow-up album to “Slania” should become something special - for it is the bands first purely acoustic album (and part I of a two-pieced acoustic concept). “Evocation I - the arcane dominion” was released in April 2009 and turned out to become a real gem of folkmusic and again became a huge success (#20 in the swiss album charts). More tours all over Europe & North America followed as well as their first show in Russia.

Now, after three full length albums and over 250 shows in over 30 countries, Eluvetie is ready to conquer the rest of the world & unleash their latest Masterpiece:

When the first ten years of the new millenium have passed, Chrigel and his gang will present the perfect ELUVEITIE album. It has everything their fans and not-yet-fans are asking for: fascinating ancient melodies and stories, bonebreaking, heavy but still danceable death metal and huge choruses that will appeal to all kind of metalheads. „Everything Remains“ simply continues where „Slania“ left off taking the bands fresh and unique sound to the next higher level.

And this album of course demanded the best treatment there is, so the band hired an army of legends to put the finishing touches to this masterpiece of folk metal: Tommy Vetterli (Kreator, Coroner, a.o.) to engineer and co-produce the album, Colin Richardson (Slipknot, Machine Head, Behemoth, Trivium, a.o.) to mix it and John Davis (U2, Led Zeppelin, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, a.o.) for mastering duties.
